A Dream and Alot of Hard Work
So, how do two people with little (or no) farming experience end up creating an agri-tourism enterprise? Well, the answer is easy - they decided they wanted to.
In real life, Dave is a very successful realtor and Janine a leader in the financial world. Both have had a life-long love affair with the ocean. Janine as a world-class kayaker and Dave as a lifelong boater. Dave and Janine have embraced Ellie’s Farm bringing all of their energies, determination and worldly experience to this project. It’s a process to change these 80 acres from land that was once a logging site to one that is agriculturally viable. The work has been hard but then Janine and Dave are hard workers, no matter what they do.
They are passionate people who believe in the importance of creating a farm that will sustain the land, protect the natural habitat and celebrate the history and ingenuity of the agricultural community.
Long recognized as community champions in the Valley, it seems fitting that they have now turned their attention to championing the land that has given them so much.
Ellie is a 2 year old Golden Doodle that has stolen the hearts of Janine and Dave.
They got her as a puppy and to say she has made an impact on their lives would be an understatement. Ellie is full of love; love of adventure, love of people and a love of life. She is the quintessential “adventure dog". Whether she’s bounding through the snow on Mount Washington or standing nose into the wind of the front deck of the boat or romping around on “her” farm, Ellie embraces whatever comes her way. Janine and Dave named the farm after Ellie because she has taught them so much and brought great joy to their lives.
